History

In 1951, a group of optometrists from the California Optometric Association envisioned a banking institution dedicated to the specialized needs of independent optometrists. Consequently, they founded the California Optometric Credit Union. Then, upon request, the services were expanded into other states and the name was changed to Vision One Credit Union. Today, we continue the vision and operate as a non-profit financial institution with an all O.D., all volunteer Board of Directors. Committed solely to independent optometry, our products and services allow the private practitioner to enter practice ownership, build wealth, and execute retirement/exit strategies.

We are funded by member deposits from independent O.D.s, optometric associations & societies, optometric colleges and companies that support independent optometry. Your deposits are re-invested back into independent optometry – not other medical professions or indu
